We talked for a time about several Bigfoot experiences he had, and then we got to work on the one he wanted sketched. He began by telling me about the setting, and gave me a moment to moment recount of the event as it unfolded. Then he said, "It had the head of a coyote..."
Whoa! ..... NOT what I expected. Below is what happened in his own words....
"I was driving south along a highway in Western Oklahoma on September 28, 2016 about 10:00 PM. I was coming around a curve dropping off into a creek bottom when my lights centered on a bipedal creature standing not 7 or 8 feet off the highway. As I was coming down the curve of the road I started slowing down encase it ran out in front of me, but it didn't move. It just stared at me. I then could see what I was looking at, in complete disbelief. I was reaching to turn on my light bar, to have more light, but I just froze for a second not believing what I am seeing. I couldn't even turn on my light bar because of disbelief. I drive a 2015 Chevrolet 3500 dually four wheel drive, and it is fairly tall. I have 2 led light bars on the truck which are very, very bright.
These Things are myth, fable, and legend. I always thought the tribal members stayed in the sweat lodges too long and smoked too much peyote and were hallucinating!! And I have Cherokee blood; my Great Grand Mother was full-blood Cherokee. The closer I got to it, there was no doubt it had a coyote head and body, but it had human shoulders and arms, and it was standing on 2 legs. The arms are very long, and I could not see the hands because of the grass came up to mid-thigh on the creature. As I slowly got closer to it, the more I could see that this was not someone dressed in a costume, a person would not fit in it. The body was too skinny and the arms were too thin and too long. They looked out of proportion to the body. I thought, “Oh! My gosh this is a skin walker!!!!”
It didn't have much of a neck, and the ears were a little pointier than most coyotes and just a little bit of tan coloring. The tufts of fur on the side of the face came more to a 'side point' than pointing downward like they do on most coyotes. The body was almost all silver-to-white, which made it almost illuminate under my pickup lights. The grass that it was standing in, is a silver tipped bluestem, which helped reflect more light on to the creature. The shoulders were fairly wide with rounded tops at the chromium clavicular joint which I have been told that is a trait of the Cheyenne people. The eyes were sinister looking with dark lines on the side and down ward from the eyes. The closer I got I kept thinking it would run away, but it continued to look, not just at my pickup, but where I was sitting in the pickup. It slowly turned its head and we made eye contact as I drove by. This left me with the over whelming feeling as if it was saying,
“I know who you are, and where you are at.”
I immediately sped up! I have lights on the back of my pickup so I tuned them on just to make sure this thing did not jump onto my trailer. For the next 2 days I was in complete denial of what I had seen. I could not sleep; I kept seeing this thing standing in my dreams. I kept telling myself that something fell off of someone’s truck ….Or it was part of a dead tree. Just something, anything other than what I saw.
The third day I had to go back into the same area, but in the day light. I stopped, and with great apprehension and a LOT of looking the area over, I got out, and started looking around for tracks. The ground was too hard packed and covered in grass. There wasn't any sign of something falling off of a truck or a dead tree.
The first night I thought this thing was around 5 feet tall, but as I stood where it stood, I knew it had to be as tall as I am and probably taller, I am 6'3". When I asked Sybilla Irwin to do the sketch she was asking me very detailed questions about the creature and I couldn't give a real accurate height. So I went back to the sighting location with a tape measure, and a 9 mm pistol, (As if it would even stop this thing), to get as close as I could. I found the spot, so I measured from the spot to the height of the road which was 2 feet, because of the slope, and not the exact spot, I allowed 6 inches give or take, then I measured from the road to where my eye level was. I allowed the creatures eyes were about 3 inches lower than mine. So that makes it approximately 8 feet tall, give or take the 6 inches allowing for the slope of the road where it was standing. The final tally is anywhere from 7 feet 6 inches to 8 feet 6 inches tall.
An Interesting fact about this area… The creek is named after a certain type of Indian and its only 6-7 miles away from a well-known battle that wiped out an entire Indian Village.
At this writing it’s been 67 days since the encounter and I have had dreams of this creature standing and looking at me every night except for 2 nights. Last night I had the dream but it was standing at a greater distance away from me.
I still would like to know, why me?"
I wish I could help him answer the question that nags him.... The ,"Why Me?" question.
Maybe someday he will have his answer. But until then, it comforts me knowing doing these sketches has helped him in some small way.
Thank you for sharing your experience. And may God surround you with healing protective light...
